Floral Ark

I'm so glad you've found your way here.
I'm Amanda. I am an accredited Reiki practitioner, a medicine drum maker, and a steward of land-based knowledge - but more than any title, I am someone who has been healed by this path and wishes to share it with integrity and care.
For the past six years, I've been working as a self-sufficient community herbalist, quietly growing, harvesting and preparing plant medicines while sharing what I learn with others. My academic research explores plant consciousness and intelligence, but if Iām honest, the deepest learning hasn't come from books ā it has come from kneeling in the soil, from watching the way a plant responds to weather, from tending and listening over time.
Floral Ark grew from a longing. A longing to respond to our ecological crisis not only with practical skills, but with reverence. My time helping to launch land-based education taught me how vital regenerative horticulture and food growing are. Yet I began to feel that practical knowledge alone is not enough.
We need relationship.
We need reciprocity.
We need a deeper, more devotional way of being with the natural world.
Floral Ark is my offering toward that vision.
Floral Ark is my small, one-acre physic garden resting beside the Black Mountains at Bronllys Court in Wales. It isn't a venue built for scale or performance. It is simply land that I tend, day by day, through relationship. Over one hundred medicinal trees and plants grow here. There is a moon circle nestled among the herbs. Pollinator-friendly spaces hum with bees and hoverflies. It is small ā but it is alive.
If you are feeling weary of noise, pressure and constant doing, this is a place where you can soften.
Here, plants are grown with care and worked with respectfully. Craft happens slowly. Stories are shared around fires and in circles. Ceremony rises naturally from the seasons rather than from a timetable.
Work remains seasonal.
The land remains central.

Everything I offer - retreats, herbal workshops, drum birthing, Reiki, seasonal gatherings ā unfolds within this living garden. The paths have been shaped by hand. The beds formed gradually. The trees planted with hope for future generations. Nothing is rushed.
Floral Ark has also been deeply inspired by the spirit of Avalon. Time spent at Chalice Well Gardens changed me. There, I witnessed how tending land can become prayer in action - how beauty, devotion and ecology can live side by side. The reverence for sacred wells, the gentle presence of goddess traditions, and the sense of the land as teacher all quietly inform how I hold this space.
The surrounding landscape here carries its own myth and magic. The Black Mountains rise steady and protective. The skies move dramatically. The weather keeps us humble. During retreats, we walk beyond the garden gates and journey to Pwll-y-Wrach - the Witches' Pool - where water tumbles over stone and woodland wraps around us. We walk slowly, not as visitors, but as participants. The land is not scenery; it is kin.
At its heart, Floral Ark is about reconnection. To plants. To soil. To story. To the quieter parts of ourselves.
Whether you come to birth a drum, learn about your garden's first aid kit, receive Reiki, or simply sit among the herbs with a cup of tea, you are invited into relationship rather than consumption. Into participation rather than performance.
This work is gentle.
It is community-minded.
It is rooted in hope.
Floral Ark grows at the pace the land allows. And if you are seeking somewhere to pause, breathe and remember what truly matters, you would be very welcome here.
